하한가 (hahanga)

Lower price limit (limit down)

Reviewed October 15, 2026

The lowest price a stock can reach in one day: 30% below the previous close.

하한가 (hahanga) is the lower daily price limit. On KOSPI and KOSDAQ a stock can fall at most 30% from the previous day's close in one trading day.

When a stock is stuck at the lower limit there are often far more sellers than buyers, so selling can be hard until the price stops falling.
