골든크로스 (goldeun keuroseu)

Golden cross

Reviewed October 15, 2026

A shorter moving average crossing above a longer one, a common sign of a trend turning up.

A golden cross is when a short-term moving average rises through a longer-term one. In Korea the 5/20-day and 20/60-day crosses are the ones most often quoted; internationally the 50/200-day cross is the best known.

Because moving averages lag the price, a cross confirms a move that has already happened. It is a description of past prices, not a forecast.

Also called: golden crossover
