일목균형표 (ilmok gyunhyeongpyo)

Ichimoku cloud (Ichimoku Kinko Hyo)

Reviewed October 15, 2026

A Japanese charting method whose shaded 'cloud' marks a zone of support and resistance; price above it is read as an uptrend.

Ichimoku Kinko Hyo was developed in Japan by Goichi Hosoda (pen name Ichimoku Sanjin) and published in 1969. It is widely used in Korea, where it is called 일목균형표.

The conversion line (tenkan, 9 days) and base line (kijun, 26 days) are midpoints of the high–low range; the two leading spans, plotted 26 days ahead, form the cloud. Price above the cloud is commonly read as an uptrend, below as a downtrend, inside as undecided.
