시가총액 (sigachongaek)

Market capitalisation (market cap)

Reviewed October 15, 2026

What the whole company is worth on the stock market: share price × number of shares.

시가총액 (sigachongaek) is a company's market capitalisation: the share price multiplied by the number of shares issued. It tells you how big a company is in the eyes of the stock market, not how much cash or assets it has.

Korean lists, indexes and news often rank companies by market cap. KOSPI and KOSPI 200 weights are based on it (adjusted for shares that rarely trade). On JONBUR it is the latest close × listed shares.

Also called: market cap · 시총
